Teachanywhere is seeking an experienced and dedicated Secondary Biology Teacher to join a vibrant and progressive international school in Yangon, Myanmar. We are looking for an educator with a passion for sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm for Biology with their students.

About the School:
Since this school was founded in 2009, it has experienced a rapid increase in student numbers and in 2013 moved to new premises. Class sizes are small, and an emphasis is placed on sporting activities. The school follows the British National Curriculum from Nursery through to Secondary where students complete IGCSEs and A-Levels. Their aim is to provide a holistic education and therefore, provide varied and interesting extracurricular activities.

Location Overview:
Yangon is Myanmar's largest city and its economic hub. It's a fascinating city which blends British heritage with Burmese, Chinese, and Indian influences, creating a unique and vibrant atmosphere. It is very well known for its colonial architecture and is a real mix of old and new as the city has developed with the influx of private industry and investment and the population has now reached 5 million. This is a fascinating place to live within an amazing culture at the heart of Southeast Asia - with all of the region's delights on your doorstep. Some of the world's most beautiful beaches are nearby, and weekends can be spent exploring the likes of Mandalay. Further afield is the gateway to all that the Far East has to offer.

Benefits:

• Salary from $23,400 to $26,400 net per year (paid in USD)

Requirements:

• Fully qualified with at least 3 years of experience
• Bachelors Degree in Biology/ Education and a Science PGCE
• UK National Curriculum experience is highly desirable.
• Ideally, you will have previous experience of working with EAL students.
• Must have resilience, and be flexible.
• Dedicated, hardworking professionals who are interested in living and furthering their careers in a fascinating location offering a unique cultural experience

To be successful in your application, you should:

• be a fully qualified and/or licensed teacher
• be able to pass police checks and background checks including references
• be a proficient English speaker
• possess good classroom management skills
• be a citizen of the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, the USA or Canada (to meet visa requirements)
• remain open minded, resilient and keen to contribute to the future success of the school
