The School

Teachanywhere is delighted to be working in partnership once again with YCIS schools. Applications made via Teachanywhere have the benefit of being prioritised by Yew Chung leadership staff who recognise our important first stage application reviews.

Founded in 1932, YCIS is an unrivalled network of international kindergartens, schools and college that spans across 20 locations in Hong Kong, mainland China and Silicon Valley in the US. YCIS is a fully accredited network of schools, recognised by CIS (Council of International Schools).

YCIS Shanghai is very well resourced. Campuses are bright, colourful, and cheerful, especially with the development of Learning Communities: forward-thinking, flexible, and open learning spaces that allow for a collaborative approach to problem solving. As an Apple school, technology permeates all areas of school life. Teachers embrace the use of the latest tech in their learning spaces, and students benefit from one-to-one iPad or MacBook programmes in Upper Primary and Secondary. Above all else, the approach is a holistic one, with great emphasis given to sports, STEAM and the performing arts, to name but a few.

Students take IGCSE and then IB Diploma examinations. The school is known for their Chinese language and cultural programmes and co-Teacher/co-Principal structure which supports the development of students' bilingual and cross-cultural skills.
Applications made via Teachanywhere have the added benefit of being prioritised by YCIS leadership staff who recognise our important first stage application reviews.
