Teachanywhere is delighted to be working in partnership with this well-known UK private boarding school which has been in operation for 100 years. Its first international school in Guangzhou opened in 2023, and provides both Chinese and foreign students with a world class bilingual education that focuses on nurturing competencies needed in the future world.
The school combines many years of educational excellence with a modern approach and first-rate facilities. The school opened to Year 9 (Grade 8) in 2023, from Grades 1 to 9 the school offers the compulsory Chinese National Curriculum and also features extended subjects such as STEAM, AI, language and culture, art, sports, theme exploration and our unique Signature Programmes. From Grades 9 to 12 the school will offer IGCSE & A-Level.
The school is located in Panyu, the transportation hub of the Greater Bay Area. Just a 10-minute drive from Guangzhou South Railway Station, and a short distance from Hong Kong, Shenzhen and other major cities in the Greater Bay Area.
Living and Working in Guangzhou
Known as a very green city, Guangzhou has been voted one of the most live-able in China. It is close enough to Hong Kong for wonderful weekends away and has its own large expatriate community with all of the activities to match the typical expat lifestyle. School Requirements
The school is seeking to appoint highly talented individuals who share the ethos of 'A Future-Ready Complete Education', enjoy working collaboratively and cross culturally, and who share the same passion to contribute fully to the development of an outstanding new school. Every teacher will have both academic and pastoral responsibilities (within an agreed weekly teaching allocation) and as such will have the opportunity to contribute actively to (as well as take part in) the extensive co-curricular programme.
- Fully qualified with a minimum of 2 years of experience.
- UK curriculum experience is preferred
- Strong sense of responsibility, good team spirit, independent thinking, innovative thinking and consciousness.
- Solid educational and teaching theories and be able to use theories to guide curriculum development and design
- Good logical thinking and learning ability
- Previous experience of a boarding school/private school environment is desirable but not essential
- Must be willing to join a school which expects teachers to often undertake extra-curricular and/or boarding duties if relevant
- As a new school - applicants must be prepared to work hard and have lots of resilience and enthusiasm to be part of the early development stages of this school
