Responsibilities
In your role as the Primary and Early Years Principal, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Actively embody, promote, and teach the Vision and Mission of the school
  • Collaborate with the Head of School and the Board of Directors to develop and implement strategic and development plans for the school, including the annual budget for overseas orders
  • Ensure the vision and values of the school are sustained, giving priority to healthy relationships between staff, students, parents, and extended family members
  • Actively seek ways to improve and evolve the Primary and Early Years programmes and make recommendations to the Head of School and the Board of Directors as appropriate
  • Provide overall leadership to all staff within the division, fostering a culture of dedicated engagement, openness, and a sense of involvement
  • Oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures, ensuring the highest standards of performance at all times
  • Facilitate good communication processes within the whole school community and provide constructive feedback frequently
  • Monitor and update required policies, ensuring division-wide adherence to all policies
  • Provide strong leadership to the whole school community, overseeing the continual development and delivery of the best possible education to students
  • Maintain due diligence over effective evaluation and improvement of curriculum standards and classroom delivery, demonstrating knowledge of current practices and changes in the Australian, IB, and international curricula
  • Ensure the school's health and safety policies, practices, and procedures meet standards and are communicated throughout the school community
  • Monitor standards and practices of reporting on student performance and progression, ensuring the highest standards of behaviour and attendance
  • Take a lead role in vetting and utilising suitable emerging technologies to enhance the learning environment
  • Support, develop, and monitor the comprehensive programme of co-curricular activities and athletics
  • Ensure the security and pastoral care of all students remain an essential part of the school's day-to-day activities
  • Be responsible for the overall management of the Primary and Early Years division, being transparent and accountable to the Head of the School, the Finance Department, and the Board of Directors for the use of all funds and resources made available to the division
  • Review, manage, and monitor the annual overseas order with respect to continual improvement of the quality of learning and teaching, promoting efficiency and value for money spent
  • Liaise with the school's Marketing and Admissions departments, actively representing the school within the internal and external community
  • Engage in appropriate opportunities to promote the school and ensure positive relationships with current and potential students and parents
  • Foster and further develop links with peer international schools and universities to develop the global outlook of the school and extend opportunities for all students
  • Be well-versed in and responsible for safeguarding, child protection policies, and promoting the welfare of all students within the school

Requirements

  • Master's degree or higher (preferred) in Education with a relevant teaching qualification where applicable
  • IB Educator and/or Leadership Certificates (IBEC) is desirable
  • minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar leadership role, coupled with 6 years of experience as a classroom teacher with international school exposure, is highly preferred
  • Significant leadership experience with demonstrable outcomes, in an IB PYP international school is essential
  • Ability to collaborate as an integral member of a whole-school senior leadership and management team and to build high-performing teaching teams
  • Relevant and recent professional development, particularly in leadership skills, communications, and school management
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communicative skills, including emotional intelligence
  • Capacity to solve problems, make difficult decisions, communicate decisions clearly, and resolve conflicts
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, parents, and other stakeholders while adhering to international school standards and the mission and vision of the school
